Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager within the Clinical Engineering Department. This is a new role requiring qualities of good Business Administration within a Technical environment.

The postholder will support the Clinical Engineering Manager as part of a Trust wide assurance for the safe management of patient connected medical devices.

To function as the Trust Wide Contracts Manager and be responsible for setting up and managing all relevant medical device contracts. This will be in collaboration with Clinical Divisions.

To ensure consistent process and to align contracts where possible across the organisation.

The post holder consults regularly with clinical and other technical staff. The postholder will collaborate with colleagues across sites as required and be flexible to ensure a cohesive approach with the wider internal clinical and corporate teams.

Main Duties of the Job

Provide trust-wide responsibility for the management of all Clinical Engineering Service contracts.

Ensuring contract service management is professionally supported by effective administrative services that complies with all legislative, Trust and contractual requirements.

Provide line management support to the Service Contracts Administrator.

Regular meetings with the Clinical Engineering Manager and Team Leaders to ensure all information required is collated correctly.

Provide monthly indicators of contract spend and statistics for renewals.

Consult with service specific Clinical Engineering staff to ensure a smooth management and delivery of contracted services and to assist them in problem solving and the implementation of remedial action.

Responsible for ensuring appropriate supplier KPI targets are monitored in collaboration with procurement.

Function as the Trust representative on professional networks associated with subject areas managed.

Identify commercial opportunities for service development and contribute to subsequent business plans.

Responsible for ensuring best value in all commercial contracts.

Responsible for alignment of contracts wherever possible.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent demonstrated level of skills and experience.
  • GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English, maths, science.
  • Demonstrable experience of Database systems and the ability to use/export the data for reporting purposes.

Desirable:

  • Business Administration Level 4.
